Why It’s F1’s Hottest Race in Miami Grand Prix has become one of Formula One’s most exciting modern races since it joined the calendar in 2022
It perfectly mixes high-speed racing with the vibrant energy of Miami.
Held at the Miami International Autodrome around Hard Rock Stadium, the track feels like a street circuit with palm trees, waterfront views, and a festival atmosphere that sets it apart from every other venue.
In 2026, Miami kicks off the U.S. leg of the season again, returning to Florida in early May.
The weekend brings serious star power celebrities, athletes, and big names flood the paddock, turning it into one of F1’s biggest crossover events. Fans get nonstop action, including a Sprint weekend format, driver parades, and packed schedules from
Friday to Sunday.
The 2026 schedule is:
Friday, May 1st — Free Practice and Sprint Qualifying
Saturday, May 2nd — Sprint Race and Grand Prix Qualifying
Sunday, May 3rd — Main Grand Prix at 4 PM local time.
The 5.41-kilometre track has 19 corners, three long straights, and top speeds over 350 km/h. The wildest section is between Turns 13 and 16, where the track rises and falls over bumpy terrain with overpasses. The tricky uphill chicane at Turns 14-15 is a real test of driver skill and car balance.
Add Miami’s heat, changing grip levels, and heavy tyre wear, and you’ve got a race that’s full of surprises and last-lap drama.
It’s not just a Grand Prix it’s a full-blown spectacle that keeps getting bigger every year.
