Democrats Betray Their Voters

Following the election of Donald Trump as President for the second time in November 2024, Democrats across the United States began to rack up wins both big and small. Much of this support was built on a reaction to and a rejection of the MAGA movement.

Now however, several prominent Democrats have gone back on their campaign promises, betrayed their voters, and sided with big corporations, Israel, and with Trump.

New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill Sides with ICE.

In November 2025 Democratic voters came out en masse in New Jersey to support the election of Mikie Sherrill as the state’s new Governor.

Despite being a Democratic state, New Jersey leans purple, and Sherill was up against one of the toughest Republican candidates, Jack Ciattarelli. Cittarelli had Trump’s endorsement and a massive grassroots campaign of New Jersey Republicans who went knocking door to door in hopes of flipping the state red.

Despite this opposition, a coalition of Democrats in the state came together to push her over the finish line with the understanding that she would serve as a roadblock to the Trump administration. Now, it seems that she has sided with the Trump admin over Delaney Hall, ultimately betraying her voters.

Blurry Picture like the Democratic Party

Since late May, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)’s detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, Delaney Hall, has become the center of national attention when detainees inside the facility launched a hunger strike over alleged abuses happening inside. 56 detainees inside the private prison signed off on a letter alleging that they faced “reprisals, discrimination, mockery, mistreatment, and threats”.

Soon, hundreds of protestors and activists had gathered outside the building sparking conflict with the ICE officials inside. Not long after that Local and State Police joined the fray with the stated goal of protecting both ICE agents and the protesting public. However, in reality they protected only DHS and joined their attack on the protestors

Sherill has been working behind the scenes to secure several deals with ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as part of ongoing negotiations, which have returned visitation rights to some detainees and finally gotten Democratic law makers

access to inspect the facility. But critics argue she wasn’t doing enough and she even became complicit by allowing the police to do this.

She has also been caught in a lie. She claimed, “Tonight, masked individuals at Delaney Hall attacked the barrier in the protected protest area and began aggressive and dangerous actions against Newark and New Jersey State Police (NJSP), including throwing projectiles, utilizing the barriers as weapons, and lighting tires on fire in the street.”

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Data Center Photo Opp One of the key issues Democrats claim to be against is the mass expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI). While both the right and left have expressed support for the development of AI in theory, Dems have taken a position of caution and in favor of regulation.

Governor Whitmer herself acknowledged several of the risks of AI, including deepfake technology and excessive water consumption. Yet when push came to shove, she had no problem volunteering her state to host new OpenAI data centers, even when it went directly against the wishes of the voters.

Photo obtained from Facebook shows Whitmer (middle) alongside OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Oracle Ceo Clay Magouyrk, breaking ground at the site of their upcoming 575-acre data center in Saline, Michigan.

The township board of Saline listened to the overwhelming calls against this project and voted 4-1 to reject the data center. However, that wasn’t enough to stop the corporate interests at play.

Just two days after this vote, one of the project developers, “Related Digital” sued the town. The town had an annual budget of just a million dollars, while the project itself was expected to have a budget of $16 billion. In other words, there was no way the town could financially fight the legal battle and was forced to settle. Rather than protecting her people and the local Saline government, Governor Whitmer sided with OpenAI and smiled for the camera.

Washington’s Adam Smith Co-sponsors Bill Combining US and Israeli Militaries As if siding with mega-corporations, President Trump, and DHS, wasn’t enough to piss off Democratic voters, Dem politicians have aligned themselves with the now radical state of Israel even over the interests of their own country.

One example of this is the 2027 Defense Policy Bill also known as the National Defense Authorization Act or NDAA. This bill would fund over 1 Trillion dollars towards defense spending and would come out of the average American’s taxes. This would be bad enough on its own, but the real dangerous element comes buried in section 224 of the bill, where they hope regular citizens will never check.

The section called “United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative,” would reach across every area defense tech in the US arsenal and would provide Israel with access to our research, development, testing, evaluation, integration and industrial cooperation.

Critics claim this will make us puppets of Israel and give them a target to put blame on for their war crimes. But Democrat Adam Smith co-sponsored and helped write this bill while other Democratic representatives including Jared Golden, Henry Cuellar, Chrissy Houlahan, and others offered their support for it.

With the 2026 Midterms just around the corner, these betrayals could be more consequential than ever before. It leaves Dem voters stuck in a difficult situation of whether to continue supporting the DNC despite these betrayals, or do nothing and let Republicans win…

Or maybe there’s a third option, voting for politicians who actually represent the interests of the people, right or left. There aren’t many of them out there, but there is a growing appetite for those who really care. This will be the key going into November.
