Unlucky 13: US Nuclear Scientists Gone Missing or Found Dead
On April 21st The FBI announced it would be leading the multiple-agency investigating the mysterious deaths of 13 different scientists in fields such as Nuclear, Aerospace and UFO research. Other agencies involved in the investigation include the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, NASA, and even the house oversight committee.
These disappearances began in 22 and are still continuing into 2026. These are the latest deaths or disapearences in this pattern:
- William Neil McCasland: On Feb. 26, 2026, retired Air Force General McCasland left his Mexico home then disappeared mysteriously. McCasland was reportedly tied to UFO research.
- Carl Grillmair: On Feb. 16, 2026, Grillmair was shot dead on his front porch. Grillmair was a Caltech researcher that often collaborated with NASA.
- Nuno F.G. Loureiro: On December 15, 2025, was shot dead in his home. Loureir was a current MIT professor and Plasma physicist. His death was attributed to a rival in the industry.
- Jason Thomas: On December 12, 2025, Thomas’ wife reported him missing, his body was later found in a lake in Massachusetts in 2026. Thomas had been a researcher at the Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research.
- Steven Garcia: On August 28, 2025, Garcia left his home on foot with a handgun, he is suspected dead but remains missing. Garcia was a property custodian for the Kansas City National Security Campus, which built components for nuclear weapons.
- Joshua Leblanc: On July 22, 2025, Leblanc was reported missing after not showing up to work. Just hours later his Tesla car crashed into trees and exploded destroying any evidence inside. Leblanc was working as an aerospace engineer at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.
- Melissa Casias: On June 26, 2025, Casias was last seen walking on the side of the highway without her phone, keys, or wallet, just hours after having lunch with her daughter. While not a scientist like some of the others here, Casias was an administrative assistant at Los Alamos National Labratory, giving her clearance to classified information.
- Monica Jacinto Reza: On June 22, 2025, Reza was on a hike with several companions, she smiled and waved at her friends and when they turned around again she was gone never to be seen again. Reza was an aerospace engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory with other ties to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
- Anthony Chavez: On May 8, 2025, Chavez left his home on foot before going missing entirely. Chavez had previously been working at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, a top-secret nuclear weapon design facility.
10.Frank Maiwald: On July 4, 2024, Maiwald died at age 61; no cause of death was made public. Maiwald was a researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
- Matthew Sullivan: On May 12, 2024, Sullivan was found dead at his home in Virginia. In April 2026, medical records revealed that he had consumed a lethal mix of alcohol, Xanax and other substances.
12. Michael David Hicks: On July 30, 2023, Hicks died of unknown causes. Prior to that, he was working as a researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he was helping test the capabilities to deflect an oncoming asteroid.
13. Amy Eskridge: On June 11, 2022, Eskridge died by an alleged gunshot wound despite stating that she would never commit suicide and that she had received threats to her life. Eskridge was a physicist studying plasma and antigravity, and often working with NASA.
One or two could be chance, but individuals in less than four years is a pattern. Now the question becomes: Who would want to target these scientists?
Russia? China? Iran?
When anything goes wrong in America, these are some of the states we begin to immediately question. These are some of the states we are most likely to use Nuclear or other advanced weapons against, so naturally they would have the most interest in our scientists turning up dead or missing.
Iran especially has an interest in sabotaging our nuclear program as we have spent decades now sabotaging theirs. Furthermore the US even considered using the nuclear option against Iran in their current war.
According to reporting from NDTV official linked to the United Nations, Mohamad Safa, resigned to warn the world:
“I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late…”
Apart from Iran, this attack would be very in character for Russia who had a history during the Cold War of their KGB agents targeting US scientists.
China on the other hand might be interested in stealing US intelligence as they always are looking to do.
But maybe its not one of our typical adversaries, what if its someone a little closer to home?
Israel?
In the twenty first century, one nation has consistently targeted and mudered physcisists and especially nuclear physicists, and that is Israel. Netanyahu himself, Israel’s Prime Minister even admitted to the murder of 8 Iranian scientists who would typically be consideder noncombatatants.
Additionally, despite being a US ally, Israel has a history of conducting espionage operations within American borders. This includes operations specifically intended to steal US Nuclear secrets. In the 1960s, in what was known as the “Apollo Affair”, Israel not only stole Nuclear secrets from the US, they also stole between 200 and 600 pounds of enriched Uranium which could be used to make multiple nuclear weapons.
The US?
Many in the government have argued this is just a string of unrelated incidents — a coindence —- and that those actually connecting the dots are nothing more than schizophrenia conspiracy theorists seeing patterns that dont exist.
The phrase Conspiracy Theory was popularized by the CIA in 1960s, following the highly suspicious assassination of President John F. Kennedy, in order to discredit anything that differentiates from the official government narrative.
Some conspiracies that were eventually proven correct include just about everything in connection to Jeffery Epstein, Covid-19 was most likely produced in a lab, The
government does spy on us, The government did force Americans to take LSD under the MK Ultra experiments, etc.
It is entirely plausible government organizations like the CIA would murder these scientists if they believed they were going to share secret information with their public. Secret information about their nuclear program for instance or even about the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
Extraterrestrial Forces?

According to former congressman Matt Gaetz he met with a U.S. Army whistle blower that told him there were currently alien-human breeding programs with the goal of intergalactic communication. However many argue that these wild and unverified claims are just another distraction from the Epstein files.
Its possible the theories about Aliens come from the recent show Three Body Problem which follows a similar plot where Aliens are coercing scientists to kill themselves or otherwise eliminating them to make their eventual invasion of earth easier.
Certainly some of the scientists who have disappeared so far match this profile. For example, apart from several Nuclear scientists, Michael David Hicks, one of the earliest casulties was working on technology to deflect asteroids which we would likely utilize in the event of a real alien invasion.
However, where this theory falls apart is those who went missing but were not themselves scientists. Those who only had access to the building probably wouldnt be a threat to extraterrestrial forces, but they might to those trying to hide what was happening there.
Trumps Response
President Trump has not shown much interest in the science community, recently firing all 22 members of the National Science Board on April 24. However he seemed to be taking this issue a bit more seriously.
On April 17, outside the Whitehouse, President Trump was asked about the strange disappearance of all these scientists, he responded:
“Well I hope its random, but we’re going to know in the next week and a half, I just left a meeting on that subject”

Sure enough an investigation has begun, but nothing conclusive has been discovered so far.

So is this all just a coincidence? Is this just another conspiracy? Another government cover-up? Or is it some foreign entity making a play?
Two weeks later and we still dont know…
But what we do know is that with each disappearance, America is getting dumber and, by extension, weaker. There are many parties, both foreign and domestic, which have a vested interest in a weak America. Most of these parties also would like to see Canada get weaker and more docile.
The threat here must be identified. It cannot be ignored.
